What is a HVOF? HVOF is a high velocity oxygen fuel coating process, which involving the coating powder into a flame mixture of fuel and oxygen ejected through nozzle. This coating mainly improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance, however its mechanical properties such as tensile, fatigue, etc. are still remained unknown. Therefore, an experimental study will be done to see the coating’s effect towards mechanical properties.

The role of oxygen in skin care is well known for assisting in skin rejuvenation and repair. This research is an unprecedented scientific and clinical effort to understand changes in skin oxygen level through the development of a novel spectroscopy system. And we are looking for an enthusiastic technical assistant to facilitate us in the development and operation of this system!

We are looking for a highly motivated postgraduate student to undertake a Master by research in the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Research title: Deep Learning-Based of Failures Detection in Advance Additive Manufacturing of FDM 3D Printers
In general, 3D printing large item on a single print can take days to complete. During this period, printing failures can happen anytime resulting in waste materials, time and money. In worst cases, the 3D printer itself can be damaged. Hence, the main idea of the research is to detect failures in 3D printing process by using a camera via a method of deep learning.
Successful applicant will be provided with:
1. RM1,000 monthly stipend up to 24 months.
2. Research materials.
3. Conference, journal, and proofreading fees.
